SNC-Lavalin takes over Romproiect
Canadian group SNC-Lavalin took over Romanian engineering company Romproiect and will soon complete the purchase of another company on the same segment, SNC-Lavalin communications manager Dominique Morval told Mediafax.
The Canadian official did not offer any details regarding the identity of the second company targeted or the value of the two transactions.
The two companies will supply the Canadians with a stronger position on the Romanian and eastern European market, according to a press release issued by the group.
SNC-Lavalin is currently unfolding several projects in Romania and Europe, and was one of the companies that purchased the participation documents in the auction for the construction of reactors 3 and 4 of the nuclear power plant at Cernavoda. Authorities, however, selected other companies for the project.
