Volkswagen brings VW Scirocco to Romania
Porsche Romania, local importer of Wolkswagen cars, launched the Scirocco hatchback, available in two petrol engines, at prices ranging between 21,603 euro and 24,808 euro, VAT included.
The sales target for Scirocco, which is available exclusively with three-door hatchback body, is 60 units this year and some 250 units in 2009, Wolkswagen brand manager Matei Albulescu told Mediafax.
The base engine of the new VW model develops 160 horsepower from 1,400 cc. this engine comes exclusively with a manual gearbox, with seven gears, which brings the car to a top speed of 218 km/h, going from zero to 100 km/h in eight seconds.
The second engine, also petrol powered, develops 200 hp from 2,000 cc and can have a manual gearbox, but also an automatic one, each with six gears.
For the second engine, the top speed is 235 km/h (233 km/h for the automatic gearbox), and the car goes from zero to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds (7.1 seconds with the automatic gearbox).
