In 2008, the trend remains the same

In the experts’ opinion, the most dynamic segments of the insurance market will continue to be in 2008, also, the auto insurances, private pensions and corporation sector.

By the advanced estimations of the auto experts, in 2008 the auto market will exceed, most probably, the limit of 350.000 units sold, the value of the sales being of about 3.5 billion euro. This evolution of the market has direct implications on the insurance market, implicit generating an increase of the RCA obligatory insurances subscription and by CASCO insurances. „The market continues to be dominated by the auto insurances and the most probably in 2008 also, these will continue to represent the highest share. It seems that the insurance companies will also focus on the voluntary pension area, now that the wave of drawing the clients for the pensions of the Pillar II passed, as the one of the healthy insurances”, Angela Toncescu, president of Insurance Supervisory Commission (ISC) stated. We must not forget that the approval in Parliament of the law regarding the obligatory insurance of house would cause a real boost of the house insurance segment. „In my opinion, the insurers should double their efforts in drawing of corporation clients, the insurances for legal persons, SMEs especially, infrastructure, agriculture having a great potential of increase in the last years. In consequence, depends on everyone how understands to exploit all these opportunities because it’s a certainty, the insurable potential in Romania is still high”, president of ISC outlined.
