Traian Basescu wants a Right Winged Government, But Not a Liberal Prime Minister
Romanian President Traian Basescu would prefer a right-wing government of democrat liberals and liberals, as in 2004 and 2008, only that he doesn’t want a liberal prime minster, he said in an interview for a local newspaper. “The catch is whether liberals will insist on naming a prime minister. In that case, it won’t be possible because I already have a bad experience with a liberal prime minister. But other than that, I’m all for a right-winged government", the head of state told the paper.
Basescu, who is running for reelection on November 22, said Romania needs stable governments at least over the next ten to twenty years.
He also stated that a single-color government is more effective, like Nastase’s government (social democrat) was.
