National Bank of Romania Announced Inflation Targets For 2010 And 2011
The central bank of Romania has set the annual inflation target at 3.5% in 2010 and at 3% in 2011, with a one percentage point variation band. The bank also announced that inflation target will be discussed at a subsequent government meeting.
For 2009, the National Bank of Romania set a 3.5% inflation target, with one percentage point variation band and estimated, in August, that the annual inflation will be at 4.3% in December.
According to the country's statistics institute, the annual inflation decelerated, in September, for the seventh consecutive month to 4.94%.
