Romanian Winter Holiday Destinations Are 15% Cheaper This Year
Holiday packages for this year’s winter season cost an average 15% less than last year for destinations in Romania and between 20% and 25% less for destinations abroad, Romania’s tour operators’ association ANAT said. But the association expects a 10% decrease in the number of tourists compared to last year.
The most requested tourist destinations for the winter season are resorts in Romania (Valea Prahovei, Poiana Brasov and Predeal), Austria and Bulgaria. In Romanian mountain resorts, a three to four nights package over Christmas in three or four-star accommodation units with all meals included costs RON550 to RON900 (EUR1=RON4.2967), while a similar package costs RON1,000 to RON2,500 for New Year's.
Also, for three nights over Christmas or New Year's at hotels in Romanian seaside resorts, tourists will pay an average EUR150.
