Romania’s Unemployment Rate Reaches Its Highest Point Since 2004
The unemployment rate in Romania rose for the 15th consecutive month in October to 7.1%, according to the National Employment Agency ANOFM. This is the highest jobless rate since April 2004, when the unemployment was at 7.4%.
The total number of unemployed people was at 653,939 at the end of October, from 625,140 a month earlier.
The rise in unemployment was due to layoffs in the latest period, as well as to a lack of vacant jobs.
