Polish Ambassador Thanked Romanians for Their "Flows of Condolences"
Romanians’ reaction to the tragic death of Polish President Lech Kaczynski has deeply moved Poland’s Ambassador to Romania, Wojciech Zajaczkowski. He said that Romanian President Traian Basescu "personally expressed his deep sorrow" and thanked Romanians for their "flows of condolences". Also, Romania's Foreign Ministry expressed profound condolences to the Polish people, to the family of President Kaczynski and to the families of all those who died in the terrible accident.
Kaczynski, his wife Maria and other high-ranking officials were flying to Katyn, near Smolensk, for events marking the 70th anniversary of the massacre of thousands of Polish officers by Soviet secret police. The plane crashed in a heavy fog in western Russia Saturday morning, killing all people aboard.
