Romania’s Chamber of Deputies Adopts National Integrity Agency Bill
Romania’s Chamber of Deputies adopted on Monday the draft law on the National Integrity Agency (ANI), in spite of opposition social democrats refusal to participate in the procedings. The bill was adopted with 204 votes “for” two “against” and two abstentions.
Earlier on Monday, social democrat leader Victor Ponta said his party would not attend the debates on the national integrity law, as its unconstitutionality issues were not solved and the Government did not come up with new amendments so that the bill should meet the European Union's and the Constitutional Court's demands.
