Romanian Winter Holiday Destinations Are 15% Cheaper This Year

Holiday packages for this year’s winter season cost an average 15% less than last year for destinations in Romania and between 20% and 25% less for destinations abroad, Romania’s tour operators’ association ANAT said. But the association expects a 10% decrease in the number of tourists compared to last year.   The most requested tourist destinations for the winter season are resorts in Romania (Valea Prahovei, Poiana Brasov and Predeal), Austria and Bulgaria. A group of tourists, including one Romanian, five Germans and five Italians, was kidnapped in the southern Egyptian city of Aswan, CNN reported. The Romanian Foreign Ministry has not yet confirmed that a Romanian national is among the hostages, but activated a crisis cell.
