Disaster on the Romanian real estate market: Transactions dropped 98%, up to 12 million Euros

The volume of transactions during the second trimester of this year reached the lowest level in the last 5 years. The decline is also significant for the first six months of the year in course, compared to the same period 2008. Real estate sales in the period April-June cumulated only 12 million Euros, which translates in a 98% drop when compared to last year’s period. In the second trimester of 2008, the total sum from transactions was 119 million Euros. Not even the review for the first six months of this year is not encouraging. The volume of transactions shows a 90% market drop, compared to last year’s period. According to Costel Florea, investment director of Cushman & Wakefield Romania, the low rating Romania has and the current economical instability is the main reason why companies are reserved in new investments. The value can increase if there turn up for sale building plots with big surfaces in the central area. According to the real estate consultants, it is unlikely that in the second quarter of this year to be signed a real estate transaction more profitable than the one from Satul Francez (French Village). At the middle of July, Costica Costanda sold to the real estate developer Raptis Kavouras almost 1,63 hectares for 68 million euro. “The respective transactions closed, because the dynamic of the lands from the northern area is different against the rest of the Bucharest, and the luxury segment it isn’t obstructed”, Bogdan Cornigeanu,... citeste mai mult

Then follows the stage of expansion in the country, in the big cities. One of the big players estimates that not for another three-four years a general hospital with 400 beds could become profitable. From sexual dysfunctions discreetly treated in modern endowed policlinics, the private medical services have lately burst out. Among the first initiatives there were the ambulance services (the emergency transportation) and the stomatological cabinets. The Romanians, because of their tradition, resort to a doctor only when they can’t handle the pain anymore. On the other hand, neither the investments required for developing this type of business aren’t of vast... citeste mai mult
